My son is a huge fan of anything star wars. So naturally for his 8th birthday he told me he wants a star wars themed party. I am looking for any suggestions possible for his party. We would like this to be very special party but one that will work with our budget. Thank you in advance for any help given.

have a costume party! invite all the kids to dress up as their favorite star wars characters. my cousin did this, and her birthday is in April! then, prepare simple party food, like crackers and cheese, and rename it something like "jar-jars cheesy crackers." as long as you play up the star wars factor, the kids should have fun either way.

My daughter is obsessed with Star Wars and insists on having this theme. I just threw a Star wars party for my son who turned 6 last year. What to do for a 12 year old???

Hi
I'm a professional party planner. I've put together a page of my favorite Star Wars party ideas at:
http://www.party-ideas-by-a-pro.com/star-wars-birthday-party.html
There are lots of ideas for invitations, food & drink, decorations, and party games including:
Lightsabre invitations
Food & Drink:
Blue Bantha Milk
Yoda Soda
Dagobah Swamp Juice
Mustafar Lava Juice
Star Wars pizza
Chewbacca cupcakes
Sarlac Pit dip
Dagobah dip
Darth Vader cookies
Yoda Green sherbet sundaes
Chewbacca chews
Green Tea Yoda Oreos
Princess Leia cupcakes
Ewok food
Watermelon Death Stars
The page also includes lots of decoration and styling tips including how to create tablescapes of Hoth, Endor, or Dagobah (these are probably quite good for a 12 year old as they are more detailed and less 'kidsy')
Party games & activities include:
How to make Jedi robes
Homemade lightsabers
Jedi training
Jedi mind tricks
Star Wars bowling
Jedi v Sith games
Hope this helps

You can do the photo pictures at most grocery stores. You bring in a photo and they will make a cake like it.

Buy some color books and have your son color some pictures. cut out the pictures and glue on liter soda bottles and have star wars bowling with 5 of them.
Play hot potato but use a star wars stuffed item or star wars ball.
